2007 Big Game Hunting
We hunt unit 74 North of Durango
Rifle Seasons1st Season Elk Only(Statewide draw for Bulls & Cows ) Oct 13 -17 (5 days) **Two Day Break** 2nd Season Deer & Elk (Statewide draw for Deer) Oct 20 - 28 (8 days) **Five Day Break** 3rd Season Deer & Elk (Statewide draw for Deer) Nov 3 - Nov 9 (6 days) **Four Day Break** 4th Season Deer & Elk (Statewide draw for Bull, Cows & Deer) Nov 14 - Nov 18 (5 days) The primary change from the previous five year season structure is the 4th season. It is statewide draw for all elk licenses and deer licenses. Bull Elk hunting will be allowed in most units during the 4th season. There is a four day break between the 3rd and 4th seasons and the 4th season starts on a Wednesday and ends on a Sunday. This season structure is contrary to Division Staff Recommendations and the majority of testimony received during the Commission meeting. This season structure is the result of a motion provided by Commissioner Brad Phelps. The vote for this motion was 3-5 with Commissioner Tom Burke absent. Drop Camps - There must be a minimum of 5 hunters per camp or you may pay the minimum of $4,500.00. We provide 10 horses and tack (5 riding - 5 to pack), a 14' x 16' wall tent with heating stove, and an outdoor cooking pit and grill at each camp. You provide your own personal gear, license, groceries and cooking utensils, etc. We pack you and your gear in, ride in on the 3rd day to check on you and your camp, and on the last day pack you and your game out. Note - Horses are not left in camp. See *HORSE RENTALS. All gear may be rented at a nominal fee. |
$900 per hunter, groups of five - 5 day hunt.
*Horse Rentals - We rent horses and pack stock only to hunters booked with Ron-D-View. $300.00 per horse per season.
(Minimum of 2 horses per rental.)
HUNTS
A $375 Deposit per person reserves a hunt.
Balance due no later than August 1st for archery and black powder hunts or Sept. 1st for rifle hunts.
